Artist's Statement
All artwork is visual communication to me. As an artist, I try to capture the incredible beauty, complexity or mystery that I see in my journey through each day. I feel that my goal has been achieved as an artist if I can get the same type of reaction from viewers that I experienced. Then my sharing of sheer delight and wonder with others has been achieved.
Light, shadow and texture grab me. This calls me to macro and bl/wh. I like photographing nature outside or inside. I like landscapes that are messy and complicated tangles of organic and man-made elements. I work in a series typically, accumulating like-content images across a range of possibility. The complexity I offer to the viewer becomes a puzzle to untangle. "What is it" is a great comment to get from viewers. An image's detail calls forth some effort to make meaning. The subject matter often makes its way into other media as well. Enjoy.....create meaning....have a dialogue with someone.....
